## How do you get the transcript of an Instagram Reel?

Copy the Reel's link from its share menu, paste it above and press the button. The server fetches the audio behind the public post, Whisper large v3 turbo writes it down, and the text comes back with timestamps as plain text, SRT or VTT. Three runs a day are free without an account for Reels up to 3 minutes; after that it is 3 credits a minute. Private accounts and stories cannot be read.

## How to transcribe an Instagram Reel

1. **Copy the Reel link** In the Instagram app, tap the share arrow under the Reel and choose Copy link. In a browser, copy the address, which looks like instagram.com/reel/…. The account must be public.
2. **Paste it here** Leave the language on automatic unless the Reel opens with music, then pick the spoken language. No account is needed for the first three Reels a day.
3. **Copy or download** Switch between plain text and the timestamped view, copy, or download .txt, .srt or .vtt for captions.

### Is this Instagram transcript generator free?

Three runs a day are free without an account, for videos up to 3 minutes. After that it is 3 credits a minute, rounded up, with videos up to 10 minutes; see [pricing](https://clipscript.app/pricing). A run that fails is not charged.

### How accurate is it?

The sample above lists every word the model wrote differently from our script. It was a clean voice we recorded ourselves; real posts with music or several voices will do worse, and we have not measured those yet.

### Is my transcript published anywhere?

No. A transcript is private to the browser or the account that asked for it. ClipScript is not affiliated with Instagram.

### Can it read Instagram Stories or a private account?

No. Stories disappear and need a login; private accounts need a follow. Only public Reels, video posts and IGTV links work. The tool tells you when a link is private and charges nothing.

### Can I use the transcript as captions on my own Reel?

Download the .srt or .vtt file and import it into your editor. Instagram itself does not take subtitle files for Reels; burn the captions in with your editor. The transcript of someone else's Reel is for your own reading and research; their words stay theirs.
